Single candle steel lantern which came to the new world purportedly, with Samuel Champlain's expedition under De Monts. Finding it's way from Acadia to Quebec, it became an item with those in authority and graced some of the desks, house halls, and military garrisons from Port Royal to Quebec. @11.5 inches tall and 3" x 3", blackened steel, with 1-3/4" loop for hanging, and a wire fastened door of 7.5" by 2.5". Safely handles candle sticks up to 7" high.  Decorated with small Fleur De Lis venting/light holes. New
