Best known for small arms and research development, the Centro de Estudios Técnicos de Materiales Especiales, CETME is a Spanish organization that developed the infamous Spanish CETME Model 58 and L. In service for over 30 years, the Model 58 was a cheap but reliable, select-fire, stamped-steel battle rifle with a roller-delayed blowback action, chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge, adopted by the Spanish Army and carried by official forces elsewhere in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
