Scarce Pre-ban Belgian FN FAL .308 Match Semi-Auto Rifle. This FAL (French: Fusil Automatique Leger – English: Light Automatic Rifle) is a battle rifle designed by Belgian small arms designer Diudonnie Saive and manufactured by FN in Herstal, Belgium. During the Cold War, the FAL was adopted by many countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) with the notable exception of the United States. It is one of the most widely used rifles in history, having been used by more than 90 countries. Because of its’ prevalence and widespread usage among the militaries of many NATO and first-world countries during the Cold War, it received the title “The Right Arm of The Free World”. This FN-FAL rifle sports a 21” inch barrel (24” inches with flash hider) and is chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO (.308 Winchester). The barrel has front and rear adjustable iron sights. This rifle incorporates a rotating carry handle, large knob charging handle, black synthetic buttstock and pistol grip, synthetic ventilated dark olive forearm, sling swivels and (1) 20 round magazine. Includes bipod and has aftermarket A.R.M.S. top cover with scope mount. This is a pre-ban Match rifle that was imported by Steyr in Secaucus, N.J. Manufactured in Belgium and imported by Gun South. The left side of the receiver is marked ".308 MATCH". The right side of the receiver is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL/MADE IN BELGIUM/STEYR SECAUCUS N.J./GUN SOUTH BIRMINGHAM, AL." Standard adjustable front and military tangent peep sights, adjustable gas port, metric pattern magazine well, long flash hider with bayonet lug, sling swivels, carrying handle, triangular composite forearm, black plastic buttstock and black plastic pistol grip.
