    Poor quality

The one I received was cracked through at the butt end. It was sanded to the point that the trigger guard protruded unevenly and significantly. I returned it with no problem

    Fixing the flaws

The most important part of a Lee Enfield stock are the recoil lugs in the rear of the stock. You can see in the online photo that these surfaces are routed out perpendicular to the barrel, when they need to be on an angle. My remedy for this was to carefully make two wedges out of aluminum and then screw them in place with #0 wood screws to fill in the gap between the stock and the metal trigger housing. I was also concerned that there was no bracing at the rear to keep the stock from splitting. So I machined a plate of aluminum to fit in the area that comes already routed out. All but one of the holes were in just the right place, but some had to be re-drilled larger. Other than that the quality of the wood is good and it stains nicely.
