For the #1 Mk3 Lee Enfield Rifle, this steel bayonet comes with the early style hilt with “Hooked Quillion” which was the original 1907 bayonet issued with the rifle. Blade is 17" long with black finish, wood grips. New manufacture. Scabbard Included.
If you want to show off, it's not a good pick, if you want to stab something, it's great
I have searched for years to find a bayonet for my #1 Mk 3 and what I got from Sarco is a perfect example in every detail. It fits perfectly on the rifle without having to be modified. The only thing it is missing is the cosmoline to give it that old time smell. Was worth the small cost of the item.
Not bad but... the ‘proof marks’ and the ‘crown stamp’ look like they were designed and executed by a 3rd grader. The blade, fuller and quillion are all convincing compared to originals (to be fair, I’ve only seen originals in museums in Europe). The repro I received had clear grind and machine marks on the screw ends which is not like the originals (which are finished smoothly). For the price, it’s not bad. I plan to nearly completely strip the overly blued finish from the blade, screws and handle and use a plum brown finish to simulate aging and smooth out grind/machine marks on the screws as needed. This one is not nearly as good as their No. 7 bayonet repro or the No.5 ‘Jungle Carbine’ repro bayonet but it’s not bad with a bit of work.
Nice reproduction bayonet. Looks good on rifle.
