U.S. Black Leather Army Gloves amazingly unissued and stored in such a way with powder, to ensure that the leather is ready to go to work right away.  These gloves, manufactured by the Steinberg Brothers Company in 1949, have a light dusting of powder to insure the leather resists dry rot. Wiping it off with a rag and then applying leather conditioner or cleaner like 'Armor All', brings the leather back to life and with a little quick use, becomes soft and supple and a joy to use in workwear , motorcycle gloves, rappelling, or any number of activities. We've used some of these for months and the leather and stitching still remain in perfect shape! These gloves were originally issued to troops in Korea during the war. They were to be used with wool liners when available.
