A rare accessory for the 1903 Springfield Rifle , this walnut wood cylinder holds a spare striker, extractor, and striker rod. The unit fits into the buttstock top hole on the 1903 rifle. This unit was an important accessory for keeping front line units up and running when efficient logistics was never a guarantee for spare parts. Essentially 30-40% of the infantry troops would have these spare parts packs in their rifle and could draw from them as firing pins broke or extractor issues arose. Came in handy during the Trench Warfare in France as well as the 1919 expedition to northern Russia. These spare parts units were in service into the 1920s. Some stocks may need to be modified for holder to fit.
DOES NOT INCLUDE PARTS. WOOD HOLDER ONLY.
