Through trial and error, Romanian forces in WW1 learned just how unprepared they were for 20th century combat. Like France, they suffered severe 'head traumas' during battle with the Germans and Austro Hungarians as with the great Battle of Transylvania, where it was clear that although they technically won the battle, the loss of soldiers was severe, mostly to cranial damage. Helmets were needed and an immediate order was organized for 200,000 pcs. of the M1915 helmet from France. These helmets were adorned with the badge of King Ferdinand 1st who helped to reorganize his troops in Moldavia as they prepared to launch another offensive back through Romania. The helmets are made of steel in pieces like the French model 1915 helmet. Size is large - U.S. 7-1/2" or 60cm Euro size. Badge is metal and has a bronze patina profile. Very limited.
