Mauser K98 Sniper Rifle Special Extended Safety

This is a cast reproduction coated with a black oxide finish. It took a lot of fitting to function on my FN Venezuelan Mauser. I used a medium India stone to remove the rough finish from the front flat bearing surface of the safety lever. Then I used the stone to bevel the cam angles on the safety engagement surfaces to smooth transition from on-safe to middle position to off-safe. Do not cut into safety detents or modify cocking piece. Function test by placing safety on (UNLOADED RIFLE); pull trigger; move safety lever to off-safe position. Cocking piece should NOT move. Go slow, stone surfaces, re-assemble, test. Repeat as necessary. End result looks good and functions properly.

I didn't know how it would look, or how well it would function on my Timney trigger, it worked just fine. The picture shows white, but mine was blued and matched the bolt. I would recommend to anyone wanting to upgrade to this nice piece of hardware!
