Its worth the effort to rebuild.
Very few Bren L4A3's in the wild ( running) in any condition. I have never seen an L4 parts set that was an easy build. My parts set came from Sarco and cut like the others thru the barrel socket that needs to be welded up and re-machined which is the slowest part of the build. The L4 barrel supply problem can be solved by using a 7.62 liner in a standard 303 barrel. The after market L4 barrels are hit and miss with more miss in my case. Its not a quick build but really worth the effort. Proof of life~

It can be rebuilt but not a novice job or a quick fix.
My L4A3 parts set came form Sarco a few years back. There are few L4 Brens in any configuration around as parts sets, my gun was used little but cut with the intent to never fire again. The cut thru the barrel socket takes time to rebuild and the front barrel nut area on mine was melted away (gone). Actually my gun looked like it was melted into pieces Vs a nice torch cut. Anyway after repairing the barrel socket area they go together like every other Bren build. Really like mine and they take standard L1A1 inch FAL mags or the harder to find 30 round mags if you can find them. Barrels are the wild card on these L4 builds. The barrel that came with mine was off on several dimensions but I was able to make it work. Taking a 303 barrel and putting a barrel liner in it would be a better option if I was doing it again.
Proof it can be done.
