Need a Star BM Magazine? Check Here First

At Sarco, Inc., we get a great deal of pride out of knowing that we can provide our customers with the parts and accessories for their firearms, no matter how rare or hard to find. That’s why you can come to us in search of parts for the FAL, for an SKS, even for iconic firearms like the Lewis Gun, the M1903 Springfield or the M1911.

Even so, we make it a point to bring hard to find parts and accessories to our customers, even when those parts, or even the platform itself, are a hard thing to come by. In this article we’re going to take a look at a pistol that, while not very well known, has a loyal following: The Star BM.

A Short Background on the Star BM

Some might find it easy to get this pistol confused with an M1911. It may look like one, and it might arguably be patterned after the M1911, but it possesses a few unique traits that differentiate it from the legendary 1911.

The Star Model BM was designed by a Spanish Arms manufacturer to fill the role needed for a service pistol and is no longer in production. As it is chambered in 9mm Parabellum (better known, ubiquitously as the 9mm Luger cartridge) it is easy to find ammunition for this platform. That being said, finding ammo for it is one of the only things that will be easy. In addition, the Star Model BM also is somewhat more compact (although slightly heavy) for its size. Depending on the variant of 1911 with which you are most familiar, the Star BM is likely to be smaller, though dense.

Though it is a magazine fed slide-action pistol with an external hammer like the 1911, it lacks the grip safety that many models of 1911 are built with. In addition, one of the most important differences between the Star Model BM and most 1911’s is the fact that the triggers are not the same by any stretch.

One of the most popular features of the 1911 is that the trigger moves only only one axis, and thus travels only directly backward. This makes it a favorite of shooters who hate trigger creep and unpredictability. The Star BM’s trigger, like the triggers of many firearms, pivots around a pin, causing it to travel in two dimensions rather than along one.

As you can see, there are a few cosmetic and functional differences between the Star Model BM and most 1911 pistols, but, if you take a look at one, they are nearly identical at first glance. That similarity, coupled with the attractively low cost of most models, has made them a favorite of shooters looking to find a 1911-esque pistol at a better price. However, as they are no longer produced, it can be hard to come across Star BM parts. The good news is you are in the perfect place to find them.

Not Just a Star BM Magazine: We Have the Parts You Need

As mentioned, the fact that Star BM pistols are no longer produced can make it a little more than tough to find the parts you need to make repairs and adjustments. With that in mind, there are other things you might need for a Star BM in order to make them operable as desired.

Let’s just take a hypothetical situation into consideration. Let’s just say you got a killer deal on a Star BM but it came without a Star BM mag. If that is the case, you may have gotten a steal on the firearm but you’re going to be working with what is effectively a single-acton, single-shot handgun unless you can find a mag for it. You’ll have a hard enough time finding other parts for the firearm elsewhere; don’t make it hard to find a Star BM magazine.

Check out our collection of parts for the Star Model BM and you’ll never have to go on a wild goose chase again. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, we pride ourselves on providing hard to find parts for even harder to find firearms, and the Star Model BM is no exception.
