Tight Slide
I started with a PSA ACP .45 Frame and got this kit. The slide was very tight. I took it to my gun shop and another slide was fine on the PSA Frame but the Sarco Slide was Tight on the other frame too. I Emery Filed off the Anodized Coating on the bottom and it was much better. The cuts in the left side of the slide for the slide lock had raised areas around the cuts on the bottom of the slide. I hit these spots a little more and got the slide to function but still is tight. I have not lubricated it yet but I'll be Frog Lubing in the oven this weekend. I'm also having trouble getting the Main Spring Retainer Pin installed so I'm taking it to my gun shop this weekend too. The Slide Lock / Thumb Safety Spring Tunnel appears to be the wrong part since it does not fit the frame and the spring and two pins will not fit in the tunnel. I have not contacted Sarco about this but will know more after..., you guessed it, this weekend. Dave

.45 Builders Kit plus Slide
I have been really pleased with these kits. All parts go together with not a lot of fitting. The finished 1911 looks just like the one my Dad had after WWII. Just make sure you view lots of YouTube videos about building 1911's

My first 1911 build.
The parts kit was complete with every part needed. The 1911 went together quite easily. Some filing and sanding is required, but I believe all kits would require that. I had to go to the range 3 times to finishing the tuning of the handgun and it cycles just fine now. This is really the low cost way to go. The experience was great and I have purchased a second kit from SARCO. Thanks
