1903 Springfield Stock Good Condition

The stock I received is intact, with a couple of repaired cracks radiating forward from the butt. Hopefully they hold together, but at this point I have no reason to believe that they won't. The critical stress points around the action are all undamaged. It's a little beat up, and looks like somebody took a belt sander to one side of it at one point, but it should be serviceable, and as a bonus has some visible markings and rack numbers stamped in it, which is pretty cool. Shipping was quick and packaging more than adequate. I feel that Sarco did a good job describing what these are, and for the price I'm happy. I'm looking to "unsporterize" a cheap rifle as a shooter, not produce an immaculately restored collector's piece, so it's nice to have an option like this available at a reasonable price point to meet that goal.

Unlike the other reviews, mine was less than good. After removing the stain, the stock had a bad crack in the tang area and 2 other cracks that had been poorly repaired. The stock otherwise is in good condition and the wood is nice, but I doubt I will use it.

This stock has a major crack on the right side of it’s receiver well wall. Not arsenal repaired like Sarco stated.

The 1903 stock i received was perfect, no dents, no chips, no cracks, even has the maker marks. BOT!!!!, it was painted Black, easy to remove and refinish. A+

I would say the one I received is in better than good condition. 1 minor chip around the cutout for the buttplate. Still has the rack number painted on and all stamps are in good condition.

Stock was less than good, IMHO!! But it'll work and look good wgen I'm done with it!!

the old 1903 is now back to original, the stock fit perfect

Stock had some orbital sander marks that easily sanded out, an awesome rack number stamped into stock! No cracks and a small repair that is under the front band, all stock markings visible although some faint. Cleaned up beautifully!
