U.S. Marked Colt Detective Special Double Action Revolver. Revolver is used in great condition. Shows slight finish wear by muzzle. Cylinder have very minor finish wear. Backstrap has crisp US markings. Frame has some finish wear towards front of triggerguard. Frame also has a small spot of very light surface pitting above the left-hand grip. Grips are slightly worn towards bottom but still have plenty of checkering along with silver Colt medallions. Barrels is 2" and has bright shiny bore. Manufactured in 1970. Six-shot cylinder, "U.S." marked backstrap, and "P" inspection marks above the trigger guard bows on the left of the frame. Frame and side plate may have some dings and scratches from storage. These revolvers were produced for the military, particularly the Army, with some being shipped to military depots like Letterkenny Army Depot in Pennsylvania. They are distinguished by government inspection marks, such as "U.S." on the backstrap and often a "P" proof mark on the trigger guard.
