From 1942 to 1945 this bombardment squadron under the 381st Bombardment Group hammered German industrial cities and installations including submarine pens in Kiel , pre D-Day saturation bombing on German Fighter Bases, and ball bearing factories and shipyards at Schweinfurt and Bremen respectively. Received 2 Distinguished Unit Citations.
