The U.S. Army Aircorps adopted the A-2 leather flight jacket in1931 and it served in front line use well into 1943. Originally made of Horse or Goat leather, it can be found in Cow leather as well from that period.
It also was in use during the Korean War by active duty veterans of WW2 who relished the jackets that became very soft and fashionable with a 'veteran status look' that commanded respect on the flight line. This is also the jacket that adorned some of our favorite movie stars in blockbuster movies like The Great Escape, Von Ryans Express, The Right Stuff, and who could forget the Fonz' from Happy Days , who wore the A2 jacket frequently. Our A-2 Flight Jacket is made with carefully tanned and tailored Cow leather. The jackets are tough , yet over time will soften wonderfully and will last a lifetime! The jacket has two hip pockets, and two inside pockets as well as knit cuffs and hem. Makes a great 'biker' jacket or elegant enough to wear during special occasions. Color: russet brown.
