Swedish Mauser Flash Hider

Didn't any problem with a bevel. I bought 2 and they look nice on my rifles.

After finally getting around to putting one of these on my rifle, I took the old Swede out to the range. She didn’t disappoint. I was concerned that things might go awry since the flash hider doesn’t fit flush. All went well, but wish it was machined properly. My past two reviews about this haven’t been published for some reason.

I have to agree with Caleb’s previous review. The device is not a perfect fit due to the lack of complete machining. Would be nice if that would’ve been done so it would be a flush fit. Also, once installed, there are still threads exposed inside the device. I guess this could be to accommodate variations on different rifles, but I don’t know. We’ll see how it goes when I shoot it.

The 96 swede has a bevel at the base of the muzzle threads. Any muzzle device SHOULD have a matching bevel to allow the muzzle device to thread all the way on to the shoulder. Unfortunately, whoever machined this flash hider did not machine the bevel and therefore the flash hider binds on the bevel and does not thread all the way down to the shoulder. I suppose it would be functional still, but it leaves an awkward gap. I will need to take it to a machine shop and have a bevel machined in for it to fit properly.
