1911 Rock Island Frame
Overall this has been a great frame. It’s is out of spec in a few areas and with some time and patients you can put it back into spec. Mine came with the OEM ejector both pined and glued in place. I removed the pin and heated and the glue and am replacing it with a EGW oversized ejector. This is the frame that I am using for the SARCO 16 inch Carbine build. Pared with a fusion 6 inch slide it should make for a fun range toy. Follow along with the build if like. I go through most all aspects of building a 1911.

Best price and value on the market
I just ordered my fourth frame and I wanted to set the record straight. These frames are still the best quality choices for my individual builds.

Non-ramped frame
I was hoping this frame was ramped version, but it’s not. My 10mm rock island slide did not fit due to ramped bull barrel. Also the ejector needed to be replaced. After replacing these with correct parts, the slide fit like glove.

A good project frame but a little rough.
The only dislike that I can mention is that the frame came with an ejector and ejector pin mounted to the frame but super-glued on. I removed them by heating them with cigarette lighter, removed both carefully and replaced them with a better quality replacement. I used only one of the RIA ejector pins. All in all not a bad situation -- just remember to take your time when building. I threw away the RIA ejector; it was of very poor quality.

Rock Island Auto 1911 Frame, Parkerized
Good quality military spec frame. I have purchased several. I did some minimal fitting or smoothing on a couple, but it was not required for functionality.
