This is an excellent example of a standard Leuchtpistole (flare gun) as developed in 1936 by the Walther company that has been fitted with the ultra rare Sturmpistole Assembly. This assembly consisted of a detachable, side folding lightweight steel stock and the high angle, folding grenade launcher sight that fits over the barrel of the flare pistol.

A very nice LP34 in working condition. The LP34 still has the original anodization finish and never has been repainted. The grips are a nice black bakelite. The LP34 is marked 237 1939 which indicates production by Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabriken Bernhard Berghaus. Other markings on flare pistol include Waffenampts and Eagle over 214 on frame and barrel. Eagle over 214 also shows on most parts as well. There are two desert camo steel fittings that attach to the flare gun. These include a barrel attachment fitted with a folding sight for use when a grenade is launched, and a rear section which is comprised of a folding stock with original beige padded butt. The rear attachment is fitted to the grip of the gun by means of three fixing screws with knurled ends. A wide opening allows the user access to the weapon''s hammer.

A truly one of kind piece.
