Nambu Type 90 Navy
Produced by Kayaba Seisakusho from 1930 to 1945, The Nambu Type 90 was the original flare gun issued to the Imperial Japanese Navy during the start of WWII. With only 5100 of them being made, this Japanese militaria item is extremely hard to find, especially in this condition. This example still has the original proof stamps on the top and sides of the frame, presenting the Kayaba production stamp along with a naval anchor proof. The condition of this item is in excellent, used condition. The finish of the metal is still intact with some of the original indicator paint on each barrel. The frame and grips are in great condition with no cracks or large scratches. The left side of the flare gun is marked with the Navy patent number " PAT NO 93006", and on the right side is the serial number "4100" paired with another proof stamp. Due to these flare guns mostly being issued to the Navy, the majority were lost with the ships and aircraft destroyed during the conflict, this adds to the scarcity and collector’s value of this piece compared to other flare guns from WWII.
