    Japanese Arisaka Type 99 Monopod

Exact replica. looks original. Mounting pin was extremely tight and had to be lightly filed and sanded to make it fit

    Mounting pin

I have been having a difficult time removing the mounting pin. It is not coming out when I have used my center punch, trying to push it out.

    Japanese Arisaka Type 99 Monopod

It looks great BUT good luck getting the pin out to mount it!!! Will attempt to drill it out next. Bent a short punch trying to press it out! It may be junk now, appears its bent since the pin would not come out with the press. Whomever is putting the pin in is a jerk! The pin should be shipped un-installed!!

    work

Could not get the provided pin back in, finally got it to work with a needle bearing I had laying around. Held in place with the spring thing. As a opposed to the dust cover the "minor fitting" needed for the monopod was unduly. Had to file the interior contact surface.

    Type 99 monopod

Not horrible for the price but it was not complete. The bottom rear corners of the mounting block should have a radius to allow the block to pivot down. The one I received did not have that. I had to radius the corners for it to operate correctly and now I will need to reblue it.

    Looks Great, But Installation Issues

Posted by Byron Burris III on Sep 9th 2021

The monopod is fantastic, especially for the price; however it should be noted that installing the monopod will require the owner to punch out a pin that requires considerable force to drive out. Had to buy a punch set, broke one of the punches in an arbor press (not a cheap one either) trying to drive it out. I have a vice on the way to assist with driving the pin back in when I am ready to do so.

Great, accurate product; but man that pin is *in* there.

I was not happy that the block had to filed to fit. I had to remove .020 to .040 material to be able to assemble the block.

If it was not for the time (approx 6 hrs) I would have been happy with the product. It looked well made and the packaging was very good.

Not even close to factory spec

The pin won't go through the band have to cut down on the steel on the ears. As well it won't open all the way due to the steel ears hitting the original barrel band. Quality is sub par and definitely not factory spec
