WW2 German Army Officer Sword & Scabbard - New mnfr. in EN45 high carbon steel. During the war, there were over a dozen manufacturers and numerous models were made with special markings and 'langets' as part of the cross guard assembly. The cross guard assembly on this sword is brass with gilt finish and 'Lion head' pommel with red glass eyes. Blade is over 31-5/8 inches long, without engraving, but with blood groove. Overall length is 38-3/4 inches long. Scabbard is steel with belt ring 3.5 inches below the throat. A beautiful ornate sword and is light and easy to control with the tensile strength and flexibility of EN45 high carbon steel.
