These plasticized green translucent bags were issued in 1943 and designed to cover and protect M1 Garand & Carbine rifles during amphibious deployments and in adverse weather. These are unissued, original bags which are still durable for multiple uses and are ideal for storage in gun vault/safes or while hunting in wet weather. The bag can be pulled off of the weapon in an instant.
All have 'contract & date' of manufacture imprinted at the bottom closed end of the bag. Most of these bags were from the Philadelphia Quarter Master Depot and dated 1943. Althoughthey are over 80 years old, they are still supple & pliable for real world use.
