    Cracked after 10 rounds

Posted by Michelle Adams on Jul 21st 2021

This stock cracked within 10 shots. The metal sleeve was added and recoil bolts were installed. There was a knot immediately behind the receiver that cracked. Also this stock took hours of dremeling and drilling to make work. The buttplate screw is a honorable mention as to being a pain in the ass to drill. The recoil bolt holes are not drilled deep enough to contact threads, the barrel band retaining clip hole is not drilled. The end band is not drilled and not even close to a contour that will accept the bayonet lug. POS. Go with USGI

THE INLETTING IN THE ONE I GOT IS TOO DEEP FOR THE ACTION , WHEN TIGHTENED DOWN CORRECTLY THE HANDGAURD RING IS PULLED INTO THE STOCK SO DEEP THE HANDGAURD WONT FIT .TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THE STOCK WILL HAVE TO BE GLASSBEDDED .

    Springfield 1903 C stock unfinished

Excellent 5 Stars. After looking for a reasonably priced unstained 1903 stock for a while, I decided to try this one. Nice military grade straight grain. Took about two hours to finish inletting. Easy to adjust forend tip pressure to about 8 pounds. Fits great and required no epoxy or fillers. If you know what you are doing when fitting a 1903 stock, this is an excellent choice. My customer will be very pleased.

Springfield C Stock Walnut Wood New

Posted by John Hale on May 18th 2020

Beautiful stock, my example has a couple of dark nots in the wood grain. It does require some inletting and is a bit fat. I’m only giving it 4 stars because the stock is not inleted enough for the rear tang of the trigger guard. However, it only took me about an hour to get the action and all the metal fitted. Will require some final shaping and finish sanding. Overall a very nice looking C stock. Can’t beat the price.
