    #4 Enfield .303 Rifle Bundle

Posted by K Boettcher on Dec 10th 2019

I understand the negative comments in this review group. Mine too was covered with surface rust, mild putting and the tip of the firing pin was snapped off. I took the rifle apart and cleaned it all up. I ran a bore scope down the barrel. The riffling was fairly strong with minor rust. There was less than %50 of the original finish left after I removed the rust. Sarco sent me a replacement firing pin. I finally got a chance to take it to the range. It shot like a dream. Very tight groups. A bit pricey but a good shooter.

Obviously an arsenal rework Heinz 57 parts on this one But it is all there and shoots just fine. A good range rifle but not at all a collectible piece Value is average Kinda pricey for what I got. The action cover extra magazine and sling are obviously modern reproductions but functional. Bayonet is correct

Lee Enfield #4 .303 rifle bundle

Posted by Steven L Pennington on Nov 28th 2019

As a life long collector, I remember the days of the $39.95 Lee Enfield #4. Those days are long gone and most of the large surplus arms dealers are long gone, so when I saw the bundle deal from SARCO, I was an enthusiastic customer. When I received the package I immediately took the rifle apart to examine, inspect and clean. The bore was well worn, but very shootable with no pitting. The rest of the rifle, not so much so. The piece was covered with surface rust, with deep pitting under the wood. A thorough cleaning and scrubbing with brass bristle brushes and a couple of high end corrosion cleaners, and wood cleaner on the furniture, I reassembled it. The end product looks OK, with solid wood, and relatively clean metal visible, with the worst of the pitting covered. The days of plentiful surplus guns on the market is over. Bundles like this are scarce. Is it worth the money? I have no regrets and will take this piece to the range soon. I may even buy another.

    Unusable

Received the rifle. The entire rifle was heavily pitted with excessive rust, stock is cracked. Recommend not buying. I'm very disappointed and will think twice about ordering a SARCO rifle.

    # 4 Enfield Bundle

My Bundle cam with cool parts , the Rifle was another story. Rust around the crown, down the Barrel too. How did they check the head space for a day at the range ? The top of the receiver looked like someone beat it with a hammer . When I fire this neglected rifle , I’ll use a long string and good cover. Too bad a beautiful piece of history gets treated like trash .

    Enfield bundle-fraudulent rating sytem

Posted by mike on Nov 21st 2019

BEWARE!!!! Sarco's rating system is based on stock on hand-NOT the approved rating code and NO DISCLAIMERS mentioned. Was advertised as 'good-very good'. My rifle had surface rust on all metal surfaces including the chamber and bore. Worst packing job EVER!-paper wrapped n only few handfuls of peanuts-a 5yr old could do better. Only redeeming factor-they took it back. BEWARE!!!!! Use at own risk!!! These people are DECEPTIVE to the point of being FRAUDULENT.

Mismatched Fazerkely, wood approaching VG but metal good. Atrocious packing job (one loose wrap of butcher paper and a handful of peanuts); package nearly split in half due to lack of rigidity. Both mags phosphated and appear indentical, unable to determine if both are repros.

Have to stretch to give the rifle a good rating for condition.

    Rest of package was good.

    .303 Enfield rifle

Posted by Scott Miller on Nov 18th 2019

It was not what was offered. Good to very good was not even close. Lots of pitting and rust, virtually no finish on the receiver, the barrel was not in "go to the range" condition. The gun would have blown up if I took it to the range. They did offer to take it back but I already completely disassembled it and took it to a gunsmith to go over it and to cerakote the barrel/receiver. Oh well.
