T26660 Bannerman Special ’37 Rifle, .30/06 Caliber  VERY RARE. This is the “Frankenstein” cousin of the Springfield 1903 Rifle.  The Bannerman “Special ’37” Rifle, assembled by Francis Bannerman of NY using military surplus parts from different rifles, as advertised in the Bannerman Catalog No. 24, dated 1938.  This consisted of: a low serial numbered ’03 Receiver, a Model 1917 Bolt, as well as Krag, M1917 Enfield, and a military barrel of unknown origin.  Stamped on the receiver is “U.S. ARMORY 118690” AND the R.F. Sedgley “S” in a circle, indicating that Sedgley either fabricated these for Bannerman with parts they had on hand or with parts Bannerman supplied.  Anyway, because of the fact that these were made with early Springfield 03 Receivers, this rifle IS NOT TO BE FIRED!!!!!  IT IS A COLLECTORS PIECE ONLY!!  As for the condition: The Wood is good with no visible cracks, and the Bore is good NOT THAT YOU WILL FIRE THIS, RIGHT?... $1000.00 View Photo
